About Lisa Allen Makeup Artist & Hair Designer, her story…Lisa Allen decided to pursue a career in makeup artistry to satisfy her creative urges.
Passionate about art and makeup as a child, Lisa’s creative spirit did not fade with age and continued to thrive well into adulthood.
Building a successful business in Thailand, Lisa made the move from the UK in 2001 and focused on providing creative services in hair and makeup in her newfound home. Late 2020 Lisa returned back to the UK and set up her business in Suffolk. Where she continues to go from strength to strength each and every year.
The History… As a child, Lisa can remember going through her mum’s makeup bag, with this becoming a favourite past time from the age of six onwards. Carefully trying to apply the retro ‘Under the Sun’ lipstick and Boots No.17 eyeliner, from that moment onwards Lisa was hooked. During her teenage years, she was inspired by high fashion magazines and would experiment with makeup, being bolder and braver than her peers with her looks. Lisa studied Art and Drama at school and excelled in these subjects. Shortly after, she realised she wanted to be a makeup artist. While working for the BBC in Information Technology, Lisa met the makeup artists working for Celine Dione and The Bee Gees. She decided it was time to make a change and follow what she felt really passionate about. In 1996 her dream became a reality. She quit her job and channelled all of her money and passion into a makeup artist & hair design course, at Brushstrokes Makeup & Hair School at Shepperton Studios. The rest is history.
Present Day… After finishing her industry training and obtaining her professional Advanced Makeup Artistry qualifications, Lisa took the plunge and started work as a freelance makeup artist. She worked on various TV productions, including working for the BBC and Channel 5. Today, Lisa is running her own successful business, providing professional makeup and hair design. She never stops learning and improving, always working to better herself to provide the best possible service to each and every client. Over the years she has been published in various magazines and has created over 2,000+ bridal makeup and hair designs.
Her favourite products to work with include Temptu Pro, Charlotte Tilbury, Tom Ford and M.A.C, Bobbi Brown.
